LCD SCREENS

I would like to replace a VGA moitor with a small LCD screen, 6 inches by 3
inches or near those measurments.
Silicon Chip had a place where you can by these for hooking up to the output
of a VGA output on a computer.
This is for reading text only, connecting the computer to inatrumention for
example where only need to read text or numbers etc.

Dose anyone know where these can be bought in Australia.

Thanks Craig

With VGA output you'll get graphics as well as text, whatever is
displayed on your normal VGA monitor. You'll be paying for a graphics
screen and the associated VGA to LCD driver circuitry.
Every man and his dog does VGA LCD screens now, industrial computer
suppliers, local computer stores, guy at the pub etc.
As far as I am aware you can't get a bare LCD panel with a VGA input
direct. They either come pre-packaged with the LCD and VGA-LCD driver
circuitry, or you can get a seperate box to do the conversion. I have
seen bare LCD panels with the VGA-LCD circuitry tacked on the back
though, no casing.

Due to the VGA resolution the smallest LCD is 8.4".

Unless you convert from VGA to Composite video then you
can go down to 2" LCD's with very very poor resolution.

I've seen VGA screens smaller than 8.4", pixel size can vary.

Dave :)
