LCD projector problem?

Hi on my LCD projector (older Proxima model) there is a strange output in
all view modes - there is a black 'hole' (elliptical taking more than 50% of
the screen in the center) with a blue surrounding. When displaying the
image (DVD/pc/etc.) the hole is giving a yellow tint to the image being
displayed (ie. the area behind this hole has a pronounced yellow tint).

Can anybody suggest what could be wrong with this? Would it be the lamp, or
something on the board?

Thanks,

/Dan

Either dirt or burns on one or more of the picture developing elements.

Without eliminating certain parts to find the problem, I would say that you
either have a burnt polarazation filter, possible burn-in on one of the
panels, or one of the many mirror and diffusing pieces may have been burnt.
Do not attempt to open and see unless you know how to properly align these
parts. Your first mistake was buying a Proxima. Get and NEC or Panasonic.

The LCD's are bad. At least one of them is dried and burned. As I remember,
they're about $800.00 a piece and all 3 should be replaced to maintain
proper color balance.
