Layout History

Hi!
I am working on a layout and some of my co-workers have rights to
change it.
Is there a way to have a log of access to the layout. i.e., the times
and users
that had accessed the layout in write permission mode.

Thanks,
vg

Cadence should have version control that tracks that as part of it's
Library Management utilities. When you setup a library make sure you
choose the version control option, I believe they call it GDM. This
should track your various versions of cells.

You can check a cell out, and then make changes, and then check it
back in. It should then retain the various versions. Careful on the
different modes, and read the docs carefully.

GDM is just the generic interface we support to plug in 3rd party tools.
Till 5.1.41 you find VS (Version Sync) delivered with the software. A simple
version control and access tool. 6.1 does not has that anymore.

Version control is not something you want to start using alone and without the
other people in the project. It requires some planning and setup.
