LAN Card Not Recognized

I have a Toshiba Satellite (3-4 years old) running XP. When I insert a
card of any type e.i. modem, lan, etc I get no reaction from the
computer. I had the same problem before I changed from WIN98.

Anyone have any ideas?

dunno about yours but the old Toshiba I had,, had something that had to be
turned on or some background proggie to take care of that... been a while
don't remember for sure what it was....
check their website
