I have a Lafayette RK-840 tape deck which I would like sometimes to
use as a simple amplifier i.e plug in a mike and get an amplified
sound through the speakers. I have no documentation on how to do it.
Any suggestions on how to do it with this simple deck?
Thanks,
Nathan

Is this a component tape deck, which requires a separate amplifier, or one of
those all-in-one dealies? - Reinhart

It is all-in-one portable tape deck. It has a place to plug in a mike
but it seems that it only allows to record the mike's output to tape.
Nothing comes from the speakers unless played back from the tape.
