As long as application of electrical power can get something to moceSolenoids and Linear Actuator are different things.
A Linear Actuator is usually a DC motor.
The direction of rotation of a dc motor can be reversed
by reversing its magnetic field.
With a solenoid, the windings are energized by application of current
and the magnet pulls or pushes the rod.
