KV27V22 Sound No Picture

I have a KV27V22 (Chassis SCC-K96R-A) which turns on with sound, led
blinks on front, but no video. Sometimes the set will play for a few
minutes and then go blank with sound. It acts like the high voltage is
not getting to the right level (haven't checked the +135 yet). Possibly
a bad electrolytic in the power supply ? Seems like a common problem,
has anybody seen this before ? Any help would be appreciated.

Do a Google groups search for Sony blanking video, AKB, etc for lots of
hints regarding all the different causes for no video but sound on a Sony.
Odds are the problem is NOT in the HV circuit. The fact that you have sound
indicates that the B+ and flyback are all running. The system control would
shut the set down if the h return pulses were missing to it.

Possible video output.

I turned the set on this morning and the picture was there for about a minute,
then compressed to about 1/4 screen from the top, then went away. It looks like
it is in the vertical circuitry, possibly a bad cap or solder connection.
Comments ?

At least you know what to troubleshoot. Yes, any of the possibilities have
been seen.
