Keystoned picture due to moved CRT-magnets

Hi,

I have a SONY KV-X2531 TV-set which has a slightly
keystoned picture. As I had to repair the set
once (leaky caps in PSU) I checked the yoke
and all alignments and everything seemed okay
on this occasion but anything seemed okay
(you cannot correct keystone with alignments
and the yoke was tight).

Now I grasped the service-manual and read about
CRT-magnets which are used to correct convergence
additional to the yoke and alignments.

My question now is, is it possible that the
picture becomes keystoned (dropped at one
edge) due to a CRT-magnet which has moved
out of it's position ?

greetings,
Adrian

These magnets are very secure, and so is the yoke. If you can move
something by hand because it is loose, then I would agree that something
moved. If you dropped the set, I have a feeling that the mask in the CRT is
damaged. We see this at times from sets being dropped, and the tubes being
damaged.
