JVC XV-THA5: How to change output from PAL to NTSC

I have owned a JVC XV-THA5 home theather system for about a year now.
One day I came home and turned it on and it seemed to have lost all of
the radio station's presets. The next time we went to watch a DVD,
and we would get is a B/W rolling screen. We took the set to an
repair man who said that both of the video outputs are now set to PAL
instead of NTSC. He said that there was a code to switch the output
of this system from PAL to NTSC and back again. This is what I am
looking for? Does anyone ever heard of this before?

Why not find the phone number for the JVC service rep in your area, and call
for the proper info???

Jerry, that was the first thing that I did and he can't remember how
he did it before. He even called JVC, but they stated that there was
no way to change it. I am in the military stationed in Germany, so it
even makes it harder. The JVC rep at the Post Exchange swears that it
can be done, he just don't remember who to do it.

I never found the hack. I got mine fixed to all code again but this was done
by JVC in Hong Kong.

Javier and Paul,

I read your messages on http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/19709 (DVD
Regional Hacks) and I would like to find out if either of you succeeded in
finding the regional codes for the JVC TH-A5, XV-THA5, SP-THA5 series ?

Thank you,
