JVC VCR (HR-VP656U) fails power on; displays '--:--'; tried

Hi all,

Had a power failure and VCR shows '--:--' in front display and nothing
else. Won't power up and I've done all the fixes in manual:
Child lock, A/B remote switch, Plug & Play startup options with
different cable inputs.
P/S fuse is good and nothing inside appears out of order or alignment
or damaged. Tried searching the Google archives and the FAQ pages at
repairfaq.org. Anyone have any ideas?
