JVC remote control for HR-DX22U

Hi,
I have an original remote unit for JVC VCR HR-DX22U. It's recently
stopped working (I can still use a universal remote). Can someone tell
me if these units can be reprogrammed and if so how ?? I no longer
have a manual.

Not only does the remote control not need to be reprogrammed but can you NOT
reprogram this factory remote control.. More than likely there are other
failures....
But, first check the battery compartment for corroded terminals, clean with
a pencil eraser and install new/fresh batteries.

you can NOT reprogram a preprogrammed factory remote control.

Hiya,
Done the battery shuffle. I guess it's probably the IR. If it can't
be reprogrammed does that mean (a) all units use the same codes and I
can confidently get a replacement or (b) I'm screwed and should buy a
new VCR ...
