jvc kd-5670 gets hot and starts to smoke

i have a jvc kd-5670 that I want to work. when i hooked it up the first time it
got hot on the transistor and started to smoke. I believe it is the amp. any
ideas why it would smoke in the first place and can i replace it with another
16 pin transistor.

16 pin transistor? Huh? Do you mean an IC?
Do you have any markings on it?
