Greetings group.
I am looking for a couple of JRC4558D op-amp chips.
I have found JRC4558C in Speedy Spares catalog.

Does anyone know the difference between C and D?

www.dialelec.com suggest NJM4558D is a substitute.
Speedy spares list this in their catalog, but it says "GOTO JRC4558C".

WES list NJM4558D.

I have also seen TL072 mentioned in a newsgroup posting.

Does anyone have anything to add?

Thanks,
Russell.

** Is this for some shitty guitar effects unit ??????

If so the question is off topic for this NG.

Go back to the forum pages you found this on.

This the datasheet for the NJM4558:
http://www.njr.co.jp/pdf/ae/ae04052.pdf

The "D" version is an 8-pin DIP.

AFAICT, JRC and NJR are the same company and the JRC and NJM parts are
identical:
http://www.njr.co.jp/e_frame/ef_01_04.html

Of course this does not explain the absence of the "C" part from the
NJM4558 datasheet.

Greetings.
No Phil.
The chip is not in a guitar effects unit.
The chip is on a pcb from a crane.
Thankyou for the reply Franc.
Very helpful.
Bye,
Russell.
