JPM Slot machine repair

The machine just powers up and beeps. The reels do not spin, as I expect
it should, and the lights don't seem to light up. The credit counters
just show 8's.

Where best to start??? Totally new to me.

Hi Tex,

First start to measure the working voltages on the mps board.

The pcb has testpoints for that and the values are printed on the pcb. After
that try to find the testpoint pcb, after power up it should change after a
small time <second.

Also check the fuses in the powersupply.
With power off, check the programmodule, lift the eproms a bit and press
them down, if oxidation can occure and lifting and pressing down clean them
a bit (scratching metals).

I don't know which mps is in the machine, they have made more then one.
