Apparently there's chemical vapor deposition of GaAs for the red,
etc. So, it's a silicon slab decorated with a big array of 3-5 semiconductor
LEDs. Best for cost would be monochrome, but with enough
processing steps, they can do RGB (and aren't displaying that yet).

Prediction: a smart watch with a builtin microscope lets you watch a 75"
virtual display...

They're advertising high brightness units for projection, so your next
TV might look like a soundbar under a whiteboard.

Focus and optics would be a pita.
Maybe more luck wuith those laser projectors.
Those are aready for sale.
