It Just Died!

Hi, All;

I have a Relisys scanner that just stopped working one day
after doing a scan job. Now all I get is a cryptic "load fail"
message. Is it possible to fix a defunct scanner or is it
better to go out and get another one if you have the bucks?

Check the lid contact ?

Also try cleaning the opto-isolator that senses "home" position . Seen
that a few times.

Oddly enough, lifting and jiggling that sliding scanning
assembly roughly a few times has "fixed" the problem.. Go
figure. Too bad scanners don't come with schematics; or at
least mine didn't.

In my case, I was taking mr Flaky scanner into work one day, and
slipped on the stairs . Scanner went bouncing down the stairs and
broke one of the two cover hinges (which i repaired with cyano)

Worked fine ever since ! . Weeeeeeird .
