I installed IC5141USR5 in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/IC5141USR5 , then

I installed Assura 3.1.7 in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/Assura0317002
All the binaries in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/Assura0317002 are already included in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/IC5141USR5 .

diff -r -s /usr/local/pkg/cadence/Assura0317002 /usr/local/pkg/cadence/IC5141USR5 | grep Only
shows all the files in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/Assura0317002 are already included in /usr/local/pkg/cadence/IC5141USR5

I don't know how to invoke Assura.
is Assura0317002 included in IC5141USR5 ?

Thank you very much.

Hi Ghaouar,

This is rather odd ...
My IC5141 stream does not contain any assura. Is it something you
inadvertently to your IC stream when downloading it ?
I know for example that spectre comes with both IC5141 and MMSIM
streams. That's historical. The spectre from MMSIM is the most up to
date though. I'm wondering if this same story goes with Assura.
Anyway, if you have got an executable in many locations, it will be
run from the first location it is found from your Unix 'PATH'
environment variable.

That said, I'm still confused with your assura redundancy ...

Cheers,
Riad.

Assura has never been included in the IC stream, so I can only imagine something
got messed up. Or you have a link (e.g. the "tools" link?) pointing from one to
the other? Sounds pretty odd though...

There are a handful of common executables (e.g. cds_root and a number of others)
that will be in both, but the main executables will not.

Can you give me few Assura 3.1.7 commands/binaries to check if I have them.
How do I invoke Assura.

Thank you very much.

Hi Ghaouar,

You can invoke Assura from the Virtuoso Layout Edior -> assura -> Run
DRC (or LVS ...)
You can run Assura from a unix terminal as well. Type in:
UNIX> which assura
or
UNIX> assura -W
to check your installPath/Version.

Enjoy yourself ... capitaine Haddock,
Riad.
