IrDA port

I have IrDA connector on my motherboard and what I need to buy to make IrDA
port.I know that i need IR LED and IR phototransistor.Any other components?

Yes, that port probably goes to COM2 and is TTL serial NOT RS-232.
Check the Rolm catalog. Also HP makes an IrDA head for several of
their printers that can be modified.
