Due to Isabel,

We used our 800Watt inverter to run a few things Thursday eve.

We run a large screen Mits. TV and Dishnetwork with a 24V 1amp
supply for the 4 way splitter.

After a couple hours, I hear this 60Hz buzz coming from behind
the TV. Next, I get a "searching for Sat service" on screen.

I think the Inverter fried the X-former. I disasemble the supply,
the X-former is Red hot. Replace X-former and all's well..

I have run this config many times before with no troubles.

If your inverter is not a pure sinewave, it will damage the transformer.
Most of these inverters, unless very expensive are not pure sinewave. They
are called generally referred to as "modified sinewave". This type of wave
looks almost somewhat like a sinewave, but is jagged in its structure. The
harmonics for this type of sinewave will damage transformers. You would be
able to see this with a scope.

That is becuase the invertor probaably doesn't output a pure sine
wave, and the transformer, which works best on sinwave, got over
saturated and burnt up.

That's what I figured. I just thought I'd share that.
