Hi

I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of any fault finding docs
or information regarding a non operational pair of mains powered (240v) 3
channel intercom units.

Abol W1-166 Wireless mains powered
(E-mailed to their tech support and no response)

They did work, but one was turned off and the other left on for a period of
approx 6 months without being used.

After plugging in and turning them both on the following happens.

Applies to both sets

Both of them power up and the call signal is heard only at the sending
station i.e. not transmitted over the ring main to the other station

No voice is heard at the receiving station when the talk button is pressed.

The station that was turned off gives an appreciably louder !whoomp! sound
from the speaker when power is applied
than the station left on which gives a much lower noise at power on

Any info or fault finding methods would be appreciated.

The may not be working, as a result of mains filters or the squelch
setting (if they have one) turned up to high.

Try plugging both units into adjacent socket outlets.

Thanks for the response, I have tried the units in adjacent mains sockets
with no improvement in their operation.

The controls on the stations are as follows

Volume 1-3
Channel 1-3
Hands free
Talk
Call

No Squelch control is available I'm afraid

I've checked within the units for obvious physical defects like
discolouration, burst capacitors, and had a glass over the board for cracks
or loose joints an cannot see anything obvious

The units are shown here http://www.abol.com.hk/products/intercoms.htm
They sadly do not appear to respond to e-mails.

Do you know of any fault finding sources for similar equipment?
