I just got a few 1/2" diameter photodiodes that I think are germanium.
They are in a gold can a bit over an inch in diameter and have 6 leads,
4 of which are active. The manufacturer's logo is a square "G" and the
part number is GMP942. Does anyone have any idea who manufactured
these? Best I can tell, there is a preamp built in and these require
plus and minus 15V to operate. These were sensors in a system using a
YAG laser.
