Inactive recompile menu item in file manager

Hi,

I just wonder if it is normal that the recompile item in the 3rd mouse
button menu in File Manager is inactive (greyed out). I work in an
environment where our CAD group has changed pretty much "in the
background" and I can't figure out if it is our setup or if it is a
normal thing.

I want to be able to edit the source file directly from the file system
and then recompile manually. When doing a lot of code editing it gets
quite annoying to have to exit the text editor every time I want to do a
compile of the HDL.

Maybe there is a CIW command that can be executed to recompile?

Kind regards,

I think recompile at all is a custom menu item.
I can't see it in my standard Cadence Environment,
but this can also be version dependent.

I'm also intersted in a SKILL command which can
start a recompile of verilog views.

In article <3rp4d4FkibdbU1@individual.net>, Bernd Fischer

I use 5.1 at the moment, and I have limited possibility to run it in
factroy default mode as we have a quite complex design environment.

It could be that our guys have implemented that recompile item for an
in-house simulator.

Thanks for your input, saves me a lot of time searching in cadence docs
for something that cadence didn't implement.
