What is the input impeadance of the
majority of computer sound cards?

Can't speak about majorities, but a typical Mic
input impedance is around 600 Ohms, and Line
or CD is "high", as in 10k to 100k.

This is actually a bit low for a mic load, 1k to 1k-10k is typically
used.
