I've been reading this newsgroup for years. I post once in awhile and so
far have been using my real return addy. No more. I used to hate posters
who faked their return address after seeing my response bounce. Now I
understand. My mailbox fills up every day with garbage responses I get
from all over the world, supposedly from people I've emailed. It's
obvious that someone wrote a program that takes all the addresses from
the newsgroups and sends virus laden messages to perhaps millions of
people. The aftermath is reverse mail-bombing when some messages start
bouncing. Sure hope they catch the bastard. Slow torture is too good for
that slimebag. I'm surprised nobody else here has mentioned getting
inundated with garbge that often passes the junkmail filters. Hmmmph.
Probably too busy cleaning up.

Lately I've been getting 25 to 30 of the Sobig.F viruses every day and
many of the "enlargement" offers. Try one of the new browsers that
has a good "bayesian" "Junk Mail" filter and after a short training
period your inbox will a more pleasant place to visit. I use Mozilla
1.4 and it gets rid of just about all of the spam, it gets dumped into
the junk folder, and I use the Email filter function to trap out all
of the .exe, .scr, .bat and .pif attachments and they get dumped
directly to the trash.

I couldn't use my primary e-mail account if I didn't have
Bluebottle looking after it. See http://www.bluebottle.com for more
info.
I just have had a look on the web site and it shows:

"New account sign-ups have been temporarily disabled"

May be it's only temporarily or may be you convince too many people to
register ?

Bonjour Bernard!
It would appear that more people are using their service than they
expected. It's not very long since they did a big upgrade because it
was becoming overloaded.
Without Bluebottle, I'd have to separate my e-mails from typically
100 items of spam every day.
Thanks for alerting me to this. :)

Regards,
Bob the Aussie.
