If Two-path architecture of SD modulator is good, why not 3r

Hi, All:

I have a question about sigma delta modulator design,

We knew there has "two-path" architecture design for sigma delta
modulator, if Two-path is good, why not apply triple path, double two
path. Is the feed clock problem? How about modify sample clock to
three phase, four phase ...?

Does it is possible for more path?
