ID'ing IC from answering machine?

From a Bell answering machine, there's an IC labeled:

LA2805N (the N looks rather like an M)
4J2 (J looks rather like an 7)

The IC is really really small, so it's near impossible to read.

What could this IC be?

If it have 3 pins, then it surely a voltage regulator of 7805 type in a
small case.

A start is it is a Sanyo Analog chip. It might be the chip that
interfaces with the tape head.
