IC Memory

Hi anyone,

I've built a digital timing circuit using TTL ICs and am looking to
store the data in some sort of memory device for later retrieval to be
either displayed on an LCD or LED display. Though I'm not sure what kind of
chips I am exactly looking for. The data is comprised of 16 bit words. Can
anyone help?

How much data are you talking about?

In addition, do you want to load/read the words parallel or serially.

Not much actually. A few hundred 16 bit words would be about it.

I'd like to load the data in parallel.

I'll sup with the devil - how about using a PIC?

Hi,

Looks like you need a microcontroller in there. Something like TI MSP430
would have on-chip writable FLASH. You will need micro anyway to display the
data.

If you already have one in circuit, you can attach serial EEPROM.
