IC Licenses

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anybody has had any problem with backward
compatibility of Virtuoso licenses? My co. is renewing their license &
currently our projects are mostly in IC5***.

I personally don't think there would be any problem working on any
IC5*** version with IC6*** licenses but I'm just curious (of course if
there is then it means I've got a load of work to do).

Best regards,

There have been a few troubles here and there as little bugs got ironed out with
the backwards compatibility of the new license features.

Are you using a vaguely recent IC5141? In theory the new license features are
supported from IC5141 USR4, but generally USR5 or later would be safer. Even
then, there are some esoteric cases here and there which have been fixed since
then (these are caused by having particular combinations of licenses and
particular combinations of tools in IC5141, so don't affect the general population).

Regards,

Andrew.

Hi,
