Hi,
I understand that IBM EDA tools generate a such a trace file for logic
simulation systems. Does anyone know if the format of this is
available? My searches only pointed to some IBM patents but no
detailed information.

Thanks ahead.

IBM's EDA department refuses to document the format even for internal
use.
Rather they have created a C (or C++?) library for accessing
AET2 trace files.
So you got calls to read and write AET2 files, and for accessing waves.

This library is the way anyone is supposed to use AET2 files.
And of course, it is IBM internal use only, as far as I know.

It turns out following links are helpful. Here is a patent with quite
a bit of detailed information:

What do you want/need it for? And which tool are you talking about?
