IBM P70 (Sony GDM-17SE2T variant) reduced width

G'day folks, I originally asked about this problem in s.e.repairs,
completely forgot about a.electronics at the time.

I've got a IBM P70 with reduced width, all voltages seem to measure OK,
(I've got the Sony 17SE2T Service Manual), replaced one transformer with
a cracked core, and I haven't got a CRO to do waveforms. Nor an ESR
tester - just a boring old DMM :/

The question is: can the width of the raster, (currently about 50-60mm
too narrow on all resolutions), be specified in the EEPROM?

I have the Sony DAS 4.2.1 software, (haven't made the RS232-TTL cable
yet), but was wondering whether it's worth the trouble if it's not in
there - still probably do it to backup the EEPROM anyway.

Or anyone around Melbourne's eastern suburbs that is particularly adept
at Sony Trinitron monitor repairs.

TIA,
Dave

Dave, check polyester caps around the flyback for leakage. There should be
two of them rated at 2kv.Replace these and all should be ok.
Cheers
