Flowers would be one hell of a lot less work.

Ah, I think I see the problem, try a gift of one of these:

On a more serious note, Lewin can probably give you some good tips on
this.

Beside the discussion whether this is the right way to impress, here a few
technical / financial things !
What do you want to spend in time and money ? Do you already have knowledge
in uC ?

You need at least the following things:
1) a microcontroller
2) a display

At least with the color display, i think, you need some money, they are not
very cheap.
If you don't put complete JPEG's into the uC (instead perhaps raw bitmaps,
or simple runtime encoded), the memory size for the 3 pics is small. You
just need to copy them to the display at the right time. How do you want to
rotate them ? Shift them left/right ?

Regards,

Martin

No, we've been married more than 18 months, so technically not newlyweds.

Which begs the question - How did you discover she had this skill? ;-)

If its a typical Australian woman we are discussing here - anything
nice, romantic or any suggestion that you love em will mostly send
them straight for the door. Intelligence or hard work and success
will do much the same too (unless you hook up with a blatant gold
digger which you wouldnt want anyway). Unfortunately this project you
are contemplating will show her that you are intelligent and have
ability and this will just make things worse.

Also it probably wouldnt excite a non-technical person as these days
most things that are yesterdays elecrtronic or technological miracles
are sold in discount stores by the million dirt cheap. people dont
comprehend the huge cost and effort that goes into developing most
products.
IF you want the girl - then act like a typical bogan, who cant think
past their next cigarette, football game on telly or saturday night
piss up with the boys. and dont be loving or nice - be largely
indifferent toward them and you will be in like flynn. Works most
every time ! :).
As the old saying goes "treat em mean and keep em keen"

Note - if this is an overseas person we are talking about - above
advice probably wont apply - or apply as harshly unless its a western
country.

The usual way, I suppose.

My girlfriend likes me to talk dirty to her when she is having sex.
Last night she called me from a motel room.

When is the official dividing line between newlyweds and oldyweds?
