Hi,

I use SE to place IOs and set the 'Placement Mode' to 'I/O Constraint
File', reading in the file 'oplace.ioc', then select 'Pin Layer Assignment'
and click ok, but I get such error:
Begin OPPLACE ...
user error: Version number expected as 5.3 or greater.
IOPLACE failed.

I use sedsm -version to check the release and get 'sedsm 05.30-p002', I
think my version fill the need, but why do I get the error info?

Thanks for your help!

I guess it's referring to the .ioc version number.
does the .ioc contain the header such as

IOPLACEHEADER (
(VERSION 5.3 )
(DIVIDERCHAR "/" )
(BUSBITCHARS "[]" )
)

at the top of the file?

Yes, There's the same header. How should I do to resolve it?

BTW, why may I not 'Edit' the *.ioc file? When I click the 'Edit', then I
get one 'pdedit' window and say 'xterm: Can't execvp pdedit'. I'm using
solaris 2.6 and SE5.3.

Thanks for your help!
