I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Hi Jim,

Somehow the attachment didn't make it into your a.b.s.e. post.

It shows here on a.b.s.e

Does your ISP block binaries?

If it doesn't show in a few hours, let me know and I'll E-mail you a
copy.

Wow. Sampled-time, but no quantization worries.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for offering but now it showed. The ISP doesn't block binaries,
just this one didn't appear at the end of the message like usual. Had to
change newsreaders and on this post I had to click a tiny plus sign,
after that your pdf file showed up in an extra window.

Cool design and it looks really clean. I wonder if it could have been
done in bucket brigade fashion, like a row of CCD that dumps into a
common rail with that 4pF cap hanging on it.

Yep. Just used for shaping a digital signal to limit the sidebands.

That's what you would do with an analog signal. Here my only interest
was to shape the edges of a digital (CMOS) signal to band-limit it
before applying it to a Gilbert cell mixer (bottom input with
resistance added to spread the transition width and keep that input
linear).

Hi Jim,

Could do it with a digital signal as well. But only if it was less real
estate and the process allows it. Once I wanted to do that on a digital
signal, transmit pulses for an ultrasound machine. There you have to
keep things band limited for EMC reasons and you can't squeeze filters
into the transducer heads. At the same time the wanted spectrum must be
maximized.

When I suggested that bucket brigade shaping to the chip designer he
looked like he was ready to throw his coffee mug at me. I can't blame
him since this was a high voltage process and we were bending enough
design rules already. So we settled for RC.

I like the weighting scheme. What's the Atmel library? Can I find it
at Atmel? I take it the digital ref came from there, eh?
