I am having difficulty identifying a diode.

The symbol on the PCB is for a zener diode, and the markings on the case are
W72.

Anyone have any idea what actual part this is?

Someone had a closer look at the diode for me, it actually says W172 and
suggested it was a 172v zener, but he only had a max of 33v.

Any ideas?
