Hiya. a friend of mine recently gave me a Matshita CD-R/W drive to
take apart and have fun with. i'm interested in removing the laser
asm. to use for various applications, but i'm uncertain of how to
operate the laser safely (i'm unsure of how to drive it without
burning it out, i am well aware of the hazards of a 54mW ~780nm laser
diode!
). apparently, the asm has an integrated laser diode driver
chip, but i have limited experience with such IC's. if anyone has a
decent diagram or anything for the CW-7586-B CDRW or has info relating
to the HUH7278 laser diode, please give a URL or etc. forward info to
hlmanco_741@hotmail.com. thnx!
