anyone out there know where i can get a memory expansion card for a laserjet
series II? yeah, i know it's a dinosaur, but mine is virtually mint & it'd
be a pity to throw it away.. whenever i try to print a page with any sort of
graphics on it, it fails half way through with an out of memory error, so
i'm limited to text only..

thanks,

tc.

I have a 2MB module from a laserjet. Can't remember if it was for I or II.
It is a PCB 110mm x 140mm with a 60 pin header on it. Made by Kingston.
It also has 16 extra IC sockets for another 2MB. You are welcome to it
for the cost of postage if it is suitable.

Yep, it is a dinosaur and no, adding memory is probably not going to
fix its problems. It always stuffs up on complicated (read modern)
graphics no matter how much memory. If you give it enough to handle
the graphic it will come out the wrong size. So try making your
graphics simpler, and maybe even changing the format (tricky, the
printer can accept a couple of formats, all other formats are
converted by Windows so it's hard to tell when you are on the right
track).

We had a 'hard rubbish' collection in our area last week, counted 2
laserjet IIs on the nature strip. Maybe that's the place to look.

Cheers,

Mark

yeah, it actually works ok for graphics as long as they are nice & small -
it will print half the page & fail, you hit continue 7 it prints the other
half on anohther page..
as far as windows goes, i'm using linux, so if windows doesn't like it i
don't mind ;)

I know of a fellow in Canberra who still repairs them, and may have some
extra memory, let me know if you are still interested and I will give you
his address and phone number.
