HP LaserJet 5p

Hi!
I have HP LaserJet 5p printer. Somebody let fall it to floor and now
it doesn't work. I dismantled it and put all parts which wasn't at
these place after a bump to the places. Now the printer starter motor,
but it don't pull paper into printer. I saw that an electromaget which
lets rollers to pull paper doesn't work. There isn't any break in the
electromaget circuit - I have checked. How can I diagnose the problem?
Can I read information about problem from printer via LPT or IrDA
ports? What problem is it? Where can I find information about repair
of these printers?

HP does not release any detailed tech info. They will not sell any tech
service level spare parts, or schematic diagrams. They will tell you to
send in the printer in for service.

Going by your description, I would be shopping for a new printer. There is a
good chance that a circuit board can also be damaged. Or, even the main
assembly can be knocked very slightly off tolerance, thus producing some
mechanical problems.

HP does sell parts for the 5p over the Internet at HP Partsurfer. I

have a 5P and have repaired a few items on it. They also have some
exploded parts views on the HP Partsurfer site. You just have to
drill down into them after you find the area you are looking at.

There is also another place that sells HP parts called Depot America
and I have used them to order parts to fix some laser printers at
work. Again, go to the HP partsurfer site and find what you need. I
don't know if Depot America sells to the general public.

im wondering if the pcb boards on this model use interconecting blocks....my
memory on a 4p was that the pcb near laser unit plugs in...check all pcbs
are "home"....the pick up tyres solieniod should get a pulkse of 12-24volts
wen its time to feed paer
