How to work with cadence !C5033 & RFDE 2004A

Guest
When I use cadence to do a simulation, you must use analog instances
from the cadence's default library (e.g. ahdlib, analoglib). and use
RFDE to complete a simulation, should get these instances from RFDE's
default library . With this, I want to use both cadence and RFDE to do
a simulation with the same schematic cell view, I must modify the
cds.lib time and time again.
How to get it easy?
Thanks very much!

Start with comptut.pdf and comphelp.pdf from your cadence installation
directory to learn how to use cadence composer to draw schematics and
to include libraries in your project you should read libmgr.pdf.
Anasimhelp.pdf will help you to set up an analog simulation with ADE.

I think I've read part of these .pdf documents.
I want to say, RFDE's simulator need RFDE's analog library, cadence IC
's simulator need cadence's analog library. It's different , but with
the same library name.
Thanks for you idea. I'll complete those documents.

I means I need get a way , use the same analog library and other
default libraries to create a schematic view, and it can do both
cadence and RFDE simulation.
Thx

The cadence analoglib and RFDE analoglib are basicly the same, except
the RFDE analoglib add ADS view to the library (an interface to ADS
simulator). You can still use deives from RFDE analoglib and simulate
it with Cadence Spectre, just in the stop view list, put spectre
before ads.

If I want to use cadence's analog library to do a RFDE simulation. Any
way?

I think you may try copy RFDE ADS cellview from analoglib to Cadence
analoglib. The bottom line is you must have a ADS cellview to simulate
in RFDE with ADS simulator.

: ) Thanks ,

Hi,

RFDE 2005A is not spectre Compatible, so you can not use Cadence
analogLib as is, you need to use the analogLib that comes with RFDE.
then point to ADS models.

RFDE 2006A and later, is spectre compatible, where ads views are not
longer needed. You will create your schematic as you normally would
in Virtuoso using 'symbol' view from any library including analogLib
or othere lib from a PDK. In RFDE ADE you will simply point to the
same spectre models you would as if you were simulating in Spectre.
One thing is that you will need to put "spectre" first in the Switch
View List.

I hope this helps you,

nacim
