how to use CadenceSpace-Based Router

Dear All,

We are using IC613 Space-Based Router to do layout, A TSMC 65nm PDK
are used in our project,

I read Space-Based Router manual and I tried to follow the munual to
do the configuration ,
but it doesn't work. I don't know how to set the rules so that Space-
Based Router can work with TSMC 65nm PDK.

I did not get the points how to make Space-Based Router work with the
specified PDK.

How to configure or set the Space-Based Router so that it can work
with TSMC 65nm PDK correctly?

Regards,
Erick

Hi Erick - you might look through the PDK to see if it is supplied.
If not, they are not the hard to set up for basic operation.
Under the pull down there should be a setup option that will allow to
build the rules.

Hi Erick - You can get the rule builder on the layout window Router--
New Rules which will pop a panel listing the techLibs.
Select the techLib that you are using and press OK. This pop another
panel that can add the layers and vias which will generate
the rule files.

The PDK may or may not include the rule files but are usually under
techFiles, cadence or something and will probably called something
with icc in it. You could try a search starting at the PDK route
directory:

find . -name \*rul\* -print

Rick,

I think you're thinking of VCAR (Virtuoso Chip Assembly Router). VSR (Virtuoso
Space-Based Router) works from constraint groups in the technology file and
doesn't need an additional rule file.

Erick - I would suggest contacting Cadence so that you can have an AE guide you
through this.

Best Regards,

Andrew.

Hi Rick and Andrew,

Thanks for your help. I just made a phone call to Cadence, They said
we need to wait for about 2 months until their engineers
returns from other jobs. It is a bit longer to wait. Our project is
going on and the supvisor cann't allow us to wait.

So, any helpful idea?

What is AE? Can I find this on Sourcelink? Could you show me the
related stuff?

Hi Rick,

As what Andrew said, this is for CCAR, it is not for space-based.

Hi Erick,

A little hard for me to set up VSR via usenet. If you can give me a little more
detail about who you are, and what company you work for, and who the AEs you're
in contact with, then I can see if I can get the right region to pick this up.

You can email me directly (you should be able to work out my email address)

OK. Hopefully that means that automated systems can't figure it out - it's
