how to tune TV channels on VCR

sounds like a dumb question ?
I have an AKAI VS-G10
from left to right there are buttons :-
power,stop,play,rew,ff,rec,I-HQ,channel,prog, cancel,clock. I have tried
pressing, holding heaps of combinations including the master reset that
seems to only clear the clock and tape programs. There are some TV channels
programmed and pressing and holding the cancel button on a channel will
delete the channel, how to make it scan for channels ?

Use the remote controll!

Greetings Peter

Are you sure you got the original remote controll as in the manual
mentioned, normally a menu button must be on it as the VSG10 is as far as I
know with menu.

The remote is a RC-W100E (long skiny one) and does not have a menu button.
This whole unit was given to me
to get working as they wanted to donate it to charity, so anything is
possible !! tks
