How to reset the lcd display

I have a a Panasonic stereo system that had a problem where it wouldnt
come out of standby mode. I traced the fault to a faulty resistor and
replaced it. Now the lcd display shows all of the segments. I have
been told that the IC needs to be reset somehow but I am not sure how
to do this.

The model is Panasonic SA-HM42

Any suggestions,

Thanks.

Sometimes there is a backup-battery or a large gold-capacitor. If so,
disconnecting it results in a reset, for sure.
Otherwise try to determine if there is a jumper or bridge on the board like
"test-mode" or "service" and switch it once , then back. Usually more
advanced ľC's understand that returning from service requires a reset.

Thanks for the reply. The main front board had a large round cap but
it wasnt very tall only about 10mm. It was gold and black though so I
disconnected it and re connected it but no luck. I cannot see any
reset switch or battery of any kind. Should it be on the main front
board near the lcd display?
Anything else I can try?
