How to filter noise?

We have a control board that shuts down equipment for safety reasons and are
having spurious trips. There are various 120VAC (low current) lines coming
from heavy equipment going to our relays and we suspect these lines are
carrying a high amount of noise that are causing us problems.

How can I filter the noise from these lines and not diminish their
robustness in any way?

Could try adding inline filters ? In UK they're readily available from RS

or Farnell. In US from Newark or Digikey ?
If they are low current lines (less than 5 amps) then they won't be too
costly.
May need filters on incoming and outgoing lines to stop noise getting in
from either end ...
Maybe ensure control board case is grounded and acts as a shield ?
Maybe add inline-filter to control board unit power supply in case noise is
being picked up that route ?

These would need to be wired in-line (OEM) rather than have a plug
receptacle. Yes, low current. I must be searching on the wrong thing, none
of the hits are close. What exactly should I be looking for?

Try Digikey.com - a search for "filter" turned up laods of things, part
number CCM1303-ND cost $12.78 each
might be similar to what you want ?
In rswww.com (RS Components, UK) there are ... 167-6793 Schaffner range
If they sound like the sort of thing you need, how about printing out the
pages with pictures, and going to your local hardware store or electrical
supplier and asking if they have anything like it?
