Hi ,

I need to create a layout using layout xl. The thing is i need to get the parameters as in schematic for pcells in layout.

Example:-
nmos has a schematic and layout. Now i created a pcell with this nmos like nmos_esd with two parameters length and width. And copied nmos schematic and renamed to nmos_esd.

But when i tried using "generate instance from source" option in layout xl. I am getting corresponding nmos_esd. But the parameters are default and i cant able to edit. Is there any way to map user defined pcell parameters?? Please help..

Thanks in advance

I've not worked on that flow for a long time, but that should work (it
is the interest of the XL flow to be able to update parameters in both
direction if needed), so you'll have to find out the setup issue which
prevent it to work. Two things which could help:

- Open the XL option fqorms and look at the parameters tab. There it is
possible to specify parameters to ignore. Are the one you want to
transfer present there?

- Are the parameter names the same in layout and schematic? If not, in
the "Configure Physical Hierarchy" tool (accessible in the launch
menu) it should be possible to specify a mapping. (There were also
configuration files so that using that tool was not needed and
everything was working correctly if the library was setup correctly,
even if name mapping was needed).

Yours,
