Well that depends alot on what software you are using, some will do
the conversion others will not. Sometimes your best bet is to create a
symbol for that chunk of code and then you can insert it into a new
layout. but it will look like one chip not a series of gates.

sorry Boki I've only used MaxPlusII and it did what i explained there.
