Hi,

I try to simulate a mixed signal testbench with 2 different cells and
each with a particular power supply.
So I need setup two different d2a_vh values of the IE. The value will
depends on the cell and the power supply associated.

Please, somebody could tell how I can deal with this, or where I can
find information.
I don't see anything in the mshelp (mixed signal circuit design
environment user guide) documentation.

Hi Benoit,

AMS Designer handles the multiple Supply Voltage in many ways. Each
method has its advantages and drawbacks.
All these information are available from the VirtuosoŽ AMS Designer
Simulator User Guide in you IUS stream, i.e. $AMSHOME/doc/amssimug/
amssimug.pdf. In my version, Chapter 11 is dedicated to 'Designing
with Multiple Power Supplies' in my version 9.2. The reason you do not
see this chapter in your doc is most likely because your are looking
at the amsug from the IC stream which is just an old pdf that is there
for legacy reasons.

But The best I can advise, is looking at the AVUM workshop as you have
both the doc and the simulation database you can exercise for a better
understanding.
The AMS Virtuoso use model (AVUM) workshop is in $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/
samples/tutorials/AMS. Please look at chapters 5 and 6. I’m working
with the method in Chapter 6 as far as I’m concerned. It's very simple
and very handy for ADE users. Downside is the indvidual selection of
modules in the hierarchy. This AVUM workshop is really great to start
with AMS Designer.

Besides, I would not recommend using the supply sensitive approach as
detailed in the first doc, why ?
1. This approach requires the modification of all your digital cells
to match the supply voltages as defined in your connect modules.
2. This approach works with the 'detailed' discipline resolution only,
i.e. more CM inserted, more simulation time although you ultimately
get rewarded with a better accuracy.

Anyway, please go through the AVUM workshop and give it a go.

BTW, from your problem descrption you appear more to be using
spectreVerilog than AMS Designer. Why is that ? You really should
consider AMS Designer.

Please do not hesitate to come with any other question.

Cheers,
Riad.
