how obtain signal name?

Hi,

I have two problems. I wonder if it is possible to do it in VHDL:

1. Read inside procedure name of signal which was used to called this
procedure?
2. Read signal value if you have name of this signal in string type
variable.

Both are not possible in VHDL.
