Not trying to be spoiler, but..

It's possible that:
- some stolen (or "found") items do sell on eBay undetected by eBay &
authorities. The narcs don't catch all the criminals. In my area,
the police only within the last week (literally) busted a fencing
operation that was selling stolen goods on eBay. And THAT seller had
an eBay feedback rating in the thousands.. THOUSANDS!!
- I think a lot of eBayers lose money (on some auctions), in an effort
to build a reputation (and positive rating)..
- some e-tailers do get better wholesale costs than others (partially
due to volume and other factors)..

-And lastly, notice that auction you mentioned had a seller with a
rating of Zero. Frankly, when buying bigger ticker items, it is
prudent to buy from eBayers who have had a single account for sometime
(i.e more than 2 years).
Of course, in my earlier example, that seller who sold stolen
merchandise had made *thousands* of transations on eBay before the
cops caught them.
