Not so; the Jan 6 committee investigated a matter that relates directly to Congress\' duties, i.e.
registering the results of a national election in the face of a mob. That\'s a proper
purpose of the Congressional power of subpoena that they used.

Since there\'s no prosecutable event identified, and the interest is \'in the Bidens\', it appears
that elected officials are using their office for opposition research in advance of an
upcoming election, rather than of any real legislature interest being served. If it IS
research, not just pot-stirring and muttering of imprecations; we\'ve seen
this before, with a protracted investigation then a short court session declaring
\'not guilty\'; remember the infamous Durham investigation?
