hope this is the right place to ask about a TFT inverter pan

Hi all. bit of an electronics newbie, but google searching didn't bring
much up.

I'm trying to find out about a TFT inverter panel I have.
The inverter is the one supplied with a Taxan CV600 TFT monitor.

I have the Toshiba LTM10C209A tft panel, and the inverter but I managed
to some how short the controller board that was OEM with the monitor.

Finding a manual or datasheet for the inverter is proving difficult, but
what I need to find are
1) the input voltages for the inverter.
2) the pinouts pin 1 is red (which I assume to be power in) other 4 are
black. I'm more familiar with PC internals where red is usually used for
5v applications, but I have seen other electrical and electronic
equiplent like fans and fm modulators that have used red as the 12v live
wiring colour, so i want to be certain.

The only identifiers on the inverter are.
on the front) CTX-Opto inv-2010 rev 8
on the back) 94V-0 CADACES CDV0-1 and 9803 in an embossed area.

I'm hoping to connect it to a Dr-Berghaus CRTtoLCD-1JIPA contoller
board.

There is no way of deducing the information you need from the LCD
panel model#. The inverter _output_ parameters are chosen for the
panel's CCFL tube, but the _input_ parameters are chosen for the
convenience of the OEM integrating the monitor.

It's an 80% likelihood the inverter runs off 5V, so you've got 5V and
gnd right there. Of the remaining wires, one is probably an "enable"
input and there may be a separate input for a PWM signal to set the
brightness.

I'd trace out the circuit and identify the +5v and gnd wires, connect
power (note: the tube probably won't light up), and tap a ground to
each of the remaining three wires. You will find that grounding - or
tying high sometimes - one of the three unidentified wires will light
up the tube at full brightness.

You should be able to get a datasheet for the controller IC online.

That will all come in useful.

I was hoping that someone may have worked on or used components from a
similar Taxan or CTX monitor in a project of some kind, and could help
with the information.

I did find a pdf datasheet/manual for a similar CTX monitor that showed
the details for that inverter which while visually similar, I realise
may be electrically a completley diffent animal. It gave the pinout
which gave the wire colours (the same and the layouts) but it mentioned
12v input. Obviously I don't want to fry the inverter by by giving it
12v if it is only a 5v unit.

I think I'm going to have to look a little close at this.
