Hi,

Got a Hitachi monitor that won't power up. When you hit the power button,
it flickers like it is trying to come up and doesn't. Replaced main FET in
main power supply and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas or a schematic?
Was not struck by lightning or dropped; simply stopped working one day.

Thanks!

If you are somewhat skilled at electronics, I would look for too great
a load on the output of the PS. Could be a semiconductor, bad cap or
anything allowing too much current to be drawn. I hope you replaced the
FET because it was bad, and not due to a guess? Guessing is a very poor
method of finding solutions.

Actually, it is at a repair shop and that is what he did to it in an attempt
to fix it. Getting tired of waiting (been six months) for him to get to it.
Shotgun repairs hardly ever work; especially when selecting the most
expensive parts to replace.

Thanks!

Found a service manual scan for $10...

Thx!
